Cynthia Williams

Director

Ohio

Cynthia is a proud advocate for educational freedom from Cleveland, Ohio. Her journey began in 2003 when her oldest daughter became one of the first 250 students to enroll in the newly launched Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA), graduating in 2011. Her youngest followed the same path, graduating from OHVA in 2020.

For nearly two decades, Cynthia served as an online learning coach and has been a tireless advocate for school choice in Ohio. She is a founding Executive Board member of the Ohio Eschool Coalition and currently serves as President of New Ohio Parents for Education Freedom! Her work includes organizing events, testifying before lawmakers, attending rallies, partnering with charter school organizations, and mentoring new parent advocates across the state.

In addition to her advocacy, Cynthia has worked for 15 years as a paraprofessional supporting special education students in virtual settings, helping them prepare for life beyond graduation.

While she has chosen online learning for her family, Cynthia firmly believes in every parent's right to choose the educational environment that best fits their child—because she knows that parents know their children best.
